Authentic Recipe Soups and Pasta Entrees from Moosewood Restaurant Debut in Supermarkets Nationwide

Fresh, organic vegetables, herbs and spices and premium organic pasta give Moosewood soups and gourmet pasta entrees their imaginatively delicious flavors


Brockton, MASS - June 25, 2003 - Organic vegetarian soups and gourmet pasta entrees from the famous Moosewood Restaurant and award-winning cookbook series will soon be available to take home from your nearby grocery store. Starting in late Summer 2003, six of Moosewood's most popular soups will appear in the refrigerated cases of supermarkets and natural food stores across the nation. In addition, four gourmet pasta entrees made with Moosewood's flavorful sauces will be sold in retailer freezer sections.

In 2002, Fairfield Farm Kitchens of Brockton, Massachusetts signed a long-term partnership with Moosewood. Combining Moosewood's culinary expertise and Fairfield Farm Kitchens' premium quality food processing capabilities, meticulous care has been taken to create two premium organic product offerings that will appeal to the tastes of consumers with sophisticated palates. Each variety is prepared in strict accordance with the original Moosewood recipe to ensure the same quality and taste experience you would have if you ordered the meal at the restaurant or prepared it in your own kitchen.

The six new Moosewood Soups are Creamy Broccoli & Cheese, Texas Two Bean Chili, Creamy Potato & Corn Chowder, Hearty Mushroom Barley, Mediterranean Tomato & Rice and Tuscan White Bean & Vegetable. They will be priced between $4.49-$5.99 and packaged in 18 oz. containers (a meal for one person or side dish for two people).

In addition, Fairfield Farm Kitchens is introducing Moosewood frozen gourmet pasta entrees. This line of organic vegetarian meals is also based on some of Moosewood's most popular dinner classics and is prepared with the same fresh-from-the-garden ingredients and meticulous care as the soups. Customers can choose from four luscious heat-and-serve pasta entrees including Broccoli & Pasta Parmesan, Farfalle & Spinach Pesto Sauce, Macaroni & Three Cheeses and Spicy Penne Puttanesca. These 10 oz. entrees will be priced between $2.49 - $4.49 in retail outlets nationwide.
