Moosewood Restaurant Introduces Authentic Recipe Products in Retail Stores and Through Foodservice Providers Nationwide
ITHACA, N.Y. - Moosewood Inc., operators of Moosewood Restaurant and authors of the nationally recognized James Beard award-winning cookbooks, announces today the national introduction of Moosewood certified organic soups and entrees for sale through grocery stores and institutional foodservice venues.
For 30 years, the Moosewood brand has been synonymous with absolutely delicious, healthful vegetarian foods. This high-level recognition is the result of many years of word-of-mouth excitement generated from their Ithaca, N.Y. restaurant and nine top-selling cookbooks. Today, Moosewood announces a breakthrough partnership with Fairfield Farm Kitchens of Brockton, Massachusetts, to launch a product line made with authentic Moosewood recipes starting with six of their most popular soups, and soon to be followed by other fresh and frozen food offerings. Consumers will immediately recognize the distinctive Moosewood flair in delicious Texas Two Bean Chili, Mediterranean Tomato and Wild Rice, Tuscan White Bean and Vegetable, Hearty Mushroom Barley, Cream of Broccoli with Cheese, and Creamy Potato and Corn Chowder.

Fairfield Farm Kitchens will be responsible for producing and marketing Moosewood soups beginning with a preview at Natural Products Expo East in Washington, D.C. October 4th-6th. The refrigerated "heat and serve" soups are bursting with the full flavor people have come to expect from Moosewood, and have exceptional nutritional qualities such as: low fat, no cholesterol, no saturated fat, and low calories, depending on the individual recipe. The soups will be sold in 18-ounce containers at retail, and packaged in bulk for institutions.
